GUIDE Brand outreach

How to pitch brands and get a reply

Who to contact, what to say, and five copy-and-paste pitch emails. No agency, no gatekeeper, no guessing what brands want to hear.

Free. No signup needed to read or copy anything on this page.
The 5-part playbook

Everything between "I want brand deals" and a yes.

1Get ready

Before you pitch: get your three assets ready.

A pitch is only as strong as what the brand sees when they click reply. Three things turn a cold email into a conversation.

First, a media kit: one page with your audience size, engagement rate, top countries, niche and past work. Build one free with our media kit generator. Second, a rate card, so you can answer the price question the moment it comes up. The rate card generator makes one in about a minute. Third, a floor rate you will not go below. Run your channel through the creator rate calculator so you are quoting from data, not guesswork.

Your pitch kit
01Media kitAudience, engagement, niche, past results
02Rate cardPrice per deliverable, with usage rights as an add-on
03Floor rateThe lowest number you will accept
04One-line positioningWho you make content for and why that audience buys
No past deals? Use your own content.

Replace "past results" with your best three videos or posts, your average views and your engagement rate. Brands are buying attention and fit, not a resume.

2Choose brands

Pick the right brands and the right person.

Fit beats volume. Ten tailored pitches outperform a hundred copy-paste ones.

Start with brands that already work with creators in your niche. Check who your competitors and peers tag in sponsored posts, look in the ad libraries of Meta and TikTok for brands running creator ads, and browse brands in the same category as products you already use. A brand that has paid for creator content before knows the process and has a budget line for it.

Then find the right contact. At small and mid-size brands it is often the founder or the marketing lead. At larger brands look for titles such as influencer marketing manager, partnerships manager, creator partnerships or social media manager. Many brands also list a partnerships email or an application form on their site or in their Instagram bio. If a brand uses an agency, pitch the agency contact directly.

Good fit signals

  • They already sponsor creators in your niche.
  • Their audience overlaps with yours.
  • You already use the product.

Where to find them

  • Sponsored posts from peers in your niche.
  • Meta and TikTok ad libraries.
  • Brand sites with a partnerships page.

Skip if

  • They promote a direct competitor of a current sponsor.
  • Their product does not match your audience.
  • No creator program and no contact route.

The easier route is to let them find you. List yourself on AdReady and brands searching your niche can send you a direct offer, so you spend less time chasing inboxes.

3Write the pitch

The anatomy of a pitch that gets a reply.

Short, specific and easy to answer. Aim for under 150 words.

Five parts, in this order
01Subject lineSpecific and short, e.g. "Collab idea for [Brand] from a [niche] creator"
02HookOne line that shows you know the brand and use the product
03ProofYour audience, average views and one result that fits them
04The offerWhat you will make and where it will run
05The askOne clear next step, such as a 10-minute call or their rate sheet

Leave your price out of the first email unless they ask or an application form requires it. Ask for their budget range first. When they do ask for your rate, quote the number you calculated and attach your rate card. If the reply comes back low, our guide to negotiating brand deals has the exact counter-offer wording.

Common mistakes

Opening with "I love your brand" and nothing else, sending a huge attachment, pitching without a niche match, and leaving the ask vague. Each one makes the reply harder to write.

4Templates

Five pitch emails you can copy.

Replace the highlighted parts and keep the rest. Edit until it sounds like you.

Template · Cold pitch to a brand you already use
Subject: Collab idea for [Brand] from a [niche] creator

Hi [Name],

I have been using [product] for [time] and I mention it to my audience of [number] [niche] viewers fairly often. My videos average [views] views with a [x]% engagement rate.

I would love to make a [format] showing [specific use case]. Would you be open to a quick chat, or can you share your creator budget range?

Thanks,
[Your name] | [link to media kit]
Best for brands you genuinely use. The specific use case is what makes it feel personal.
Template · Pitch with a data hook
Subject: [Number] [niche] viewers, one idea for [Brand]

Hi [Name],

My last [number] videos on [topic] averaged [views] views, and [x]% of that audience is in [country], which looks like your core market. I would like to show [product] in a [format] and send you the results afterward. Media kit attached. Is this something your team is exploring?
Use when your audience data is strong. Lead with the number that matches their market.
Template · Warm intro via a mutual contact
Subject: Intro from [Mutual contact]

Hi [Name],

[Mutual contact] suggested I reach out. I make [content type] for [audience] and think there is a natural fit with [Brand]. Happy to share my media kit and a short idea if you are open to it.
Warm intros convert better than cold sends. Ask the contact before using their name.
Template · Pitch to an agency or influencer manager
Subject: [Niche] creator available for [Brand] campaigns

Hi [Name],

I see you manage creator campaigns for [Brand]. I am a [niche] creator with [views] average views and an engaged audience that matches their customer. My rate card and media kit are attached. If you have upcoming briefs, I would love to be considered.
Agencies work from briefs, so lead with your fit and attach your rate card.
Template · Small-creator pitch: from free product to paid
Subject: Can I show [product] to my audience?

Hi [Name],

I have [number] followers who care about [topic], and my posts get [x]% engagement. I would like to try [product] and make a [format]. I also offer paid packages if you have a budget. Can I send you my rates?
Free product is fair for a small ask you would do anyway. Once they want scheduled posted content, quote a rate.
5Follow up and reply

Follow up without being annoying, then answer well.

Most deals are won in the follow-up and in how you respond to the first reply.

Follow-up cadence
01Day 5 to 7One short follow-up on the same thread
02Day 14Add something new, such as a recent result or a content idea
03Day 21+One last note, then move on. Re-pitch next quarter
Template · First follow-up
Hi [Name], following up on my note about [idea]. Happy to share a quick example video if that helps. If the timing is wrong, no problem at all, just let me know.
Template · When they ask for your rate
Thanks for the reply. For [deliverable] my rate is [your rate], which includes [scope]. Usage beyond my own channel is priced separately. My rate card is attached. Happy to adjust the scope if you have a set budget.
Quote the calculated number from the rate calculator. If they counter low, see the negotiation guide.

How to pitch brands FAQ

Quick answers on outreach, follow-ups and what to include.

How do I pitch brands as a creator?

Pick brands that already work with creators in your niche, find the right contact, and send a short email with a hook, proof of your audience, a clear offer and one ask. Attach a media kit and keep the email under 150 words. Follow up once after 5 to 7 days.

How many followers do I need to pitch brands?

There is no set minimum. Brands care about audience fit, engagement and content quality. Creators with 1,000 to 10,000 engaged followers in a clear niche land paid work regularly.

Should I include my rate in the first pitch email?

Usually no. Ask for their budget range first, since whoever names a number first anchors the conversation. If a form or the brand asks for your rate, give your calculated number and attach your rate card.

How long should I wait before following up on a pitch?

Five to seven business days is standard. Send one short follow-up on the same thread, and a second with something new after about two weeks. After that, move on and re-pitch later.

What should be in a media kit when I pitch a brand?

Your audience size and top locations, average views, engagement rate, niche, past work or best content, and your rates. Our free media kit generator makes one in minutes.

What if brands do not reply to my pitches?

Check three things: fit (are you pitching brands that pay creators in your niche?), clarity (is your ask one specific step?) and length (under 150 words). Also list yourself on AdReady so brands searching your niche can find and contact you directly.
